Who we are

The LAWGAMES sites and games — LAWGAMES, GUILTY or NOT, and SOBER AS A JUDGE — are operated by Bornfreund Legal Services, Professional Corporation ("we", "us"). This policy describes what information the games collect and how it is used.

What we collect

• Email address — only if you subscribe to the daily case email, buy a premium subscription or case pack, or request a sign-in link. We use it to deliver the emails and access you asked for.
• Display name — the judge name you choose. It appears on the public leaderboard (GUILTY or NOT) or to the other players at your table (SOBER AS A JUDGE). Pick any name; it doesn't need to identify you.
• Gameplay data — verdicts, scores, streaks, and votes, used to run the games, tallies, and leaderboards.
• Local device storage — the games keep your progress, preferences (like mute), and sign-in state in your browser's local storage on your own device. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Sign-up record — when you subscribe to an email list we record the date and time, which screen you subscribed from, your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string. Canada’s anti-spam law requires us to be able to show that you asked for the email, and this is that record. It is not used for tracking, profiling or advertising, and it is deleted when you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. We receive only what's needed to grant access: your email, what you bought, and the subscription or purchase status.

Service providers

• Supabase — database, authentication, and realtime multiplayer infrastructure.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Resend — sending the emails you request (daily case, sign-in links).

These providers process data on our behalf to run the games. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else except as required by law.

Emails and unsubscribing

Every email we send is one you asked for. To stop the daily case email, reply STOP to any edition or contact us at the address below and we'll remove you.

Data retention and deletion

We keep subscriber and purchase records while your subscription or unlock is active and as needed for accounting. To have your email address and associated records deleted, contact us and we'll action it.

Children

SOBER AS A JUDGE is an adults-only drinking game and is not directed at anyone under the legal drinking age. The other LAWGAMES titles are general-audience trivia games and do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
